Cade Petersen '24 Recruiting Profile

My passion for basketball came later than most. My first attempt at joining a basketball team was 6th grade when I was cut from a team for the first time in my life. I was tall and strong and thought I had it in the bag, I didn’t realizing that the other players had been playing together on an AAU team for four years together . It was clear  I wasn’t as skilled as the other players. I decided that moment that I needed to work extra hard to catch up and make the team next year. Well  I did , I worked hundreds of hours, worked on my knowledge of the game, skills and fitness . Although I’m built like a TE football player I have worked on quickness, agility and strength  to be a more all around player. The following year I  became a starting player on the team as a center and Captain my last year.  We remained undefeated for three years.  I was recruited by the head coach of Santa Cruz Premier and have been playing at the Platinum level for 3 years . I made my varsity basketball team as a freshman and sophomore.  We went to the sectional playoffs both years, making it to the second round in 2022.  I also play football, making the varsity team my freshman year.

 What separates me from my peers is my heart and my determination to excel both academically and at bettering my basketball knowledge and skills. I consider myself easy to coach and am a leader on and off the court. I will continue to reach for my dreams of playing basketball in college with hard work and perseverance.  I hope this gives you a glimpse of the player I am.
