Mahadev Turlapaty '26 Recruiting Profile

My name is Mahadev Turlapaty although I prefer to go by "Mo" I am a student-athlete in the class of 2026 and have had a passion for the game of basketball from a very young age and have had my heart set on playing at a collegiate and professional level for as long as I can remember. Throughout my years of elite basketball experience, I have strived to develop a high IQ on the court by producing successful plays in crucial moments. I am also a leader on the court by guiding my team confidently and promoting a strong work ethic throughout the entire lineup. In addition, I focus on my fundamentals and scoring ability as much as any other aspect of the game. I have developed a strong ball-handling ability to aid my role as a point guard on the court (one notable feature of my ball-handling is my change of pace and level with the basketball). My ability to get past defenders and finish with contact has been a highlight of my skill set, and I have a strong ability to shoot the ball in a contested environment. After working with collegiate-level coaches, I have been described as a coachable and diligent player and individual. My athleticism was taken off in the past couple years and I am consistently dunking the ball and can run at a very fast pace.

When I'm off the court, I strive to challenge myself with my education by pursuing Honors and Advanced Placement classes. I am an IB diploma student and currently have a 3.6 GPA.  I also carry my work ethic off the court and into the environment of my classes where I work attentively to maintain good grades and make school a priority. During my 8th grade year, I received the Principal's Honor Award for maintaining all A's in the category of work habits and the Academic Excellence Award for maintaining all A's in the section of content knowledge. I also do a lot of volunteering with girls' basketball and youth camps. I am the state-lead for an organization by the name of AndOne sports whos focus is to collect used sports equipment and give it to children in need. 

My goals at a collegiate level include maintaining a distinguished academic career while leading my team to success on the court.
