My name is Jayden Faulkner and I am a PG/SG in the class of 2028. Since I began playing basketball in kindergarten, one of my aspirations is to compete at the collegiate level and beyond. The game of basketball pushes me to become a better version of myself and improves my leadership skills. I believe the opportunity of playing college basketball will change the trajectory of my life.
Playing basketball pushes me to become a better person on and off the court. During my first year on the AAU circuit, I realized that nothing is given and everything is earned. To be the best version of myself, I have to outwork my competition. On the court, my coaches and peers noticed improvement each year with individual accolades as a result. In the classroom, my teachers have noticed the difference with recommendations for Honors classes. I may not be the best recruit in my class, but you will be hard pressed to find one to work harder than me.
My leadership skills have improved as a result of playing basketball. With the move to point guard this year, I wanted my actions to speak for me. At practice, I usually set the pace during drills. On and off the court, I focus on promoting positivity in all situations. As a result, our school team achieved great success this year and I was given the leadership award by my coaches and teammates. Also, I was nominated by the school's administration to represent the school on multiple occasions.
In closing, I would love the opportunity to play college basketball to push myself on and off the court. As a player, I will give everything I have for individual improvement and team success. As a student, I will work hard to maintain the academic standard of the institution. Away from campus, I will carry myself in a way to make both my family and university proud. In short, you will not regret offering me a scholarship to your institution. Thank you for your time and patience.
