2019 HighlightsMy name is Xavier Peaks. I am currently enrolled at Northgate High School in Newnan, GA as a sophomore . My goal is to play basketball at a Division I or Division II college somewhere in the Southeast. Off the court, I maintain A's and B's in advanced level courses. My current GPA is a 3.6 and academics are equally as important as sports to me. On the court, I am a natural born leader who encourages and pushes his teammates to be the best that they can.
My love of basketball began when I first watched Kobe Bryant play on Christmas Day 2012. His ability as an all around player amazed me and motivated me to play at his level. Since then I have studied film, played recreational basketball, and basketball for my middle and high school. I have learned that have to be vocal and communicate with my teammates and my coaches, otherwise my team will not be successful. The push to be successful comes from my mother who is an educator, who expects excellence in the classroom and from my father who expects excellence on the court. I have learned how to balance academics and sports. This has not been an easy task, but it is one that I am determined to continue no matter where my journey leads me. This is what will make me an asset to any team I am a member of. Sadly I cannot play this season because I tore my right ACL while at a Nike State Invitational Camp. I had surgery for it on August 30,2019 and should be set to return next season.
