As a young child, I have always felt a sense of fear and restraint due to some traumatic events in my childhood. I never seen the value behind what I faced and the cards I was dealt. It wasn’t until I got older that I realized I had real raw talent. I had unlocked an entire new level of determination. I started doing the thing I loved most, playing basketball. I used basketball as an outlet like many people I never had professional training or played competitively before high school. I began to play for a traveling basketball team and getting more exposure. Playing basketball led to establishing meaningful relationships, mastering skills, and setting new goals. I learned how versatile I can be on the court from shooting to speed and how powerful I am defensively. I learned to find my weaknesses and turn them into strengths. I realized I was never at a disadvantage. I had the advantage because even with all that I have faced and the late start I had compared to most kids, I have accomplished and learned so much more. I know that I will be a great asset because I have so much to offer and even more skills to unlock.
