Sam Mathurin '29 Recruiting Profile

My name is Sam Mathurin. I’m a 6’5” shooting guard/small forward in the Class of 2029 from Toronto, Ontario, with a 4.0 GPA.

I play for UPlay Canada on the EYBL Champions circuit and competed at Peach Jam 2025. During the school year, I play for Oakwood Collegiate Institute, where I was an underclassman on the varsity team.

In Grade 9, I was MVP of the junior varsity team and trained full-time with the senior team. I was also called up for the 2025 OFSAA AAA Boys’ Championships, where we won bronze at the highest level of provincial basketball in Ontario.

My biggest strength is my shooting. I can stretch the floor, shoot from deep, and play off the ball, but I’m also working to become a more complete wing. I’ve played multiple positions and I’m comfortable adapting to what the team needs.

I’m focused on continuing to build my body, compete on both ends, and make winning plays.

I’m coachable, competitive, and serious about getting better every day.

Off the court, I maintain a 4.0 GPA (A+ average in Ontario/93% average in core courses). I’m motivated to keep improving and to contribute to a college program where I can make an impact on the court and in the classroom.
