Cael Halfman '12 Recruiting Profile

I am a 5'11" point guard from St. Ansgar, IA. I have started for the varsity team my first three years of high school. I was awarded 2nd Team All-Conference my sophomore year, and was second in the conference with 3 pointers made, and third in percent. My junior year I was awarded 1st team unanimous point guard and sleeper player of the year. I have a 3.49 GPA and have not yet taken my ACT. I have a few years of AAU experience playing for the All Iowa Attack my 6th and 7th grade years and now playing for the Iowa Mavericks. Leadership is one of my strong suits, and I feel it is something I can bring to a team in any sport from the get go. I'll always work hard and do whatever the coach asks of me. I go to all my classes and get all of my work in on time. I love to compete, and bring others up to that level. I would like to stay at a school in the midwest, although if the right oppurtunity arose to play farther than that, that would be an option that I would consider. I would consider myself to be a DIII to a DII athlete. Christian schools are always an option that I would be interested in, and personal classroom attention is ideal for me. Right now I would like to major in Sports Medicine or Athletic Training. My athletic goal, ever since junior high, has been to play college basketball. At any level. I always want to show up with the mindset that I'm going to compete to my fullest potential and give it everything I have. If I get the oppurtunity to play, I want to make an impact for the team anyway I can right away.
