Devon Rogers '22 Recruiting Profile

Since I was 5 years old I've been participating in some form of athletics whether it be soccer, swimming, track and field, boxing, and my favorite basketball. I've always aspired to attend college and pursue a degree in Engineering and  to play the sports I love which are basketball and compete in track and field. My goals are to go to college for academics and athletics and God willing to one day play in the NBA. I remember growing up I wasn't always the biggest or the strongest or the fastest so I looked for other ways to set me apart from others. What I believe sets me apart is my work ethic and my drive to always get better. I remember nights when I would catch my mom up late thinking and stressing on how she is going to pay bills. Remembering those nights pushed me and helped drive me even more to get to college so I can one day take that burden away and my mom won't have to worry about paying bills. What makes me a good candidate for the team is my ability to play with anyone. I'm a team player and a very unselfish as well as I believe a very smart player. I always give my best and work work hard and does whats best for the team.  I also believe I'm coachable and catch on to things quickly. The characteristic that makes me different I think is that I'm a smart player. I make correct reads and plays when needed . I'm also very calm when playing and  I don't get rattled or panic, I believe and trust myself because all the work I have put in.
