Marco Hernandez-Colon '12 Recruiting Profile

hello, i am Marco Hernandez-Coloni am a junior currently attending st.joseph high school of hammonton, nj. i am listed as 6'3 200 lbs and i run a 4.8 with a 30 inch vertical. basketball is my passion and i strive to get better at it everyday. i have been playing as an undersized power forward for my school but i have still been able to achieve an honarable mention from the CAL league after my first varsity season averaging nearly 10 pts and 10 rebounds. i was a leader on the court and i was a leader to the upcoming freshmen and sophomores, encouraging them throughout the season. i have been told by all of my coaches that i am a very coachable player. i can take direction, criticism, and no matter what i will not give up in any situation. ever since i saw my first college basketball game, my dream has been to play in at the college level in front of family and friends. i play aau for the South Jersey Cyclones and have continuously been a key part of the team's offense but i mainly focus on defense leading the team in charges, blocks, or steals. i just want to play college ball and the only request i have, for whatever school i choose, is that it wont be too much of a cost on my parents to come see me or for me to visit them because my family is the most important thing to me. i want a school that can offer a good academic experience and has a rising or decent athletic team. i want a school that has nice warm weather and receives a low amount of snow. i need a school that can offer financial aid to my family also. i intend on going into physical therapy or business/management while in school. i will admit that i do not have the best academic records and that may steer you away from selecting me but i will tell you that i am a hard worker when i am interested in the classes, which will show in my grades. my goals for college are to possibly play freshmen year. i am not expecting to play varsity my first year but i can make an impact on whatever team i am put on. i am a decent player but i have been told with the proper coaching and direction, i could be a great player and that is what i want. i want to be the best i can be and maybe with your help i can achieve that.
