Tayo Dina '19 Recruiting Profile

My goals are to obtain a degree in engineering and to play basketball in college, my long term goal is to play professional basketball in the NBA. 

“Hard work trumps talent”, is a motto I live by. My faith in God, total focus, hard work, and my passion for basketball have defined the way I live. 

As a fresh man I had to transition from playing post to shooting guard.  Hard work, dedication, a desire not to fail my team, and the constant reminder that hard work does trump talent,  kept me motivated and undaunted.  As a result, I received the most improved player award for the past 2 years in my team and last season, I averaged 16.9 points per game, 72% free throw percentage at 52.7% field goal percentage.  In addition i became one of my team’s captains.

Academically I have kept my GPA at 4.0 while taking Honors and AP classes and playing basketball.  

It would be an honor if I am granted the opportunity of a scholarship into a college where I can continue to improve athletically in basketball and in my academics. I am committed to conducting myself with integrity and respect for the school policies, my coaches and the team rules and regulations.
