For much of my youth I played high-level lacrosse and kept basketball as a secondary sport. After deciding to push myself harder to succeed at basketball I dedicated myself to becoming a better basketball player. I want to see how far I can take it. As a return on my efforts I made the Varsity roster as a Junior within a very competitive basketball program that made a strong run into the 2019 playoffs. Throughout the season I was able to consistently contribute with my speed, shooting and defensive intensity. As I am now coming into my Senior year I am confident that these same attributes along with my rebounding and overall leadership will contribute to the success of the team and that we will make an even deeper run in 2020.
I believe that the commitment I have made to basketball and making the Varsity roster has greatly benefited me as an athlete and as a person. I have developed a greater understanding of what it means to set ambitious goals and the work required to meet those goals. Looking ahead the next step for me is to focus on simply being the best and most confident version of myself on and off the court.
Being a student-athlete has taught me so much in the way of balance and hard work and these characteristics are what drives me every day to train and get better. Regarding academics, I place them at the top of my pyramid because I know that school is preparing me for what is next. I approach every day with the same enthusiasm and mindset as I know that anything less won't help me achieve the best possible version of myself.
Looking ahead to college I want to attend a school that is academically challenging, allows me to study Physics and gives me the opportunity to do the work required to continue to be a competitive athlete and contribute to the success of my team.
