Personal Statement
Basketball has been a major part of my life since I was in the fifth grade. Every time I pick up "the rock", I feel I can do anything. The game has allowed me many opportunities. Opportunities to travel, make new friends and grow in my faith.
The game has helped to shape my work ethic. Every day I am working to improve my game. Whether it be at school, in the driveway, a community center, or just a little ten foot space in my basement...I am always working. I work so hard because I want to make it to the highest level I can go, and I know it is not just going to be handed to me. "To whom much is given much is required." Luke 12:48
Most importantly, basketball has allowed me to show others what a respectful and godly young man I am. Respect to the community and God is way more important than the ball bouncing. Everyone that I encounter always has something good to say about my positive attitude and energy. This encourages me to keep on, keeping on.
I desire to play basketball at the highest possible level that I can one day, no matter the level of the school. With God by my side and my hard work ethic, nothing can stop me.
