Ethan Laramore '21 Recruiting Profile

My name is Ethan Laramore and I am a Senior at Aquilla High School.  Making it to the college level has been a serious goal for me since I started playing competitive basketball at a young age.  I feel like what sets me apart is the fact that I have the skills of a true point guard.  To me that means not only my skills with the ball but my leadership skills as well.  

As a four year starter and three year captain I have learned how to lead a winning basketball program.  The relationship that I have built with my coach has allowed him to trust me with the team in crucial situations and allows me to make important game time decisions to lead my team to a victory.  My coach and I always seem to know what each other are thinking and it allows me to help him as  a player by being a second coach and leader on the floor.  

Overcoming failure has motivated me to continue to succeed.  My freshman year was filled with what felt like repeated disappointment as the team was not at the level of success that I always strive for personally. I know that because of that tough season I was internally motivated to push to work harder on my game and improve on how I can help my teammates.  I am not afraid to have the ball in my hands in clutch situations and I feel as though I strive and often succeed under pressure. 

 My love and heart for the game is what fuels me to continue to get better on a daily basis. I know that in order to be on the court and play the game I love I have to be successful academically and that has led me to a 3.8 GPA. I am successful in not only my required high school classes but also in the dual credit college courses that I take.
