My name is Reese Phillips, and I am a Senior at Aquilla High School. My goal is to be able to play at the next level after my high school career is completed. I feel like I would be an asset to a program because I am a leader on and off the court and put others before myself. My skill set is unique because of my size and quickness. I am used as a hybrid guard that can also play the forward positions. Because of this I can cause match-up nightmares for the opposing team.
My love for the game is another unique trait of mine. I love the game and competing so much that basketball season is what I look forward to the most throughout the year. Practice with my coach and teammates is something that I thoroughly enjoy. I show up to practice before it starts, work hard and even stay after to work on anything that could help to make me a better version of myself everyday.
One thing that separates me from most people is from a young age, I have had to overcome a hearing disability. When others would have given up I continuously worked to improve myself and not let anything hold me back. I know that adversity is something I will always face in life and I look forward to taking any situation head on and with maximum effort.
Academically, I have a 3.2 GPA and am currently enrolled in dual credit courses. I take pride in working hard to achieve a GPA that I myself can be proud of as well as my parents and coaches. I know that success in the classroom is important in order to be eligible to play the sport that I love and I take it very seriously.
