Melvin Holloway '20 Recruiting Profile

Hello,

I am Melvin Van Holloway IV.  I am the point guard for Texas Elite in Houston, TX and I have been playing AAU basketball since I was in the fourth grade.  I will be graduating in 2020 and I am currently entering my Junior year at St. Thomas’ Episcopal.  I recently changed schools in an effort to strive towards academic excellence and to allow myself an opportunity to excel in the classroom and on the court. I am interested in obtaining a business degree because I want to own various real estate properties.  I would like to be in a position to bless those that are less fortunate by giving back.

I am interested in joining your roster because I am confident that my leadership skills far exceeds the tangible view of an “ideal” basketball player.  My ball handling skills and knowledge of the game allows me to change the momentum of the game with my excitement, IQ, and energy.  My character on the court is calm, however, I have the ability to lead my teammates to success with class and character as well as a “get it done” attitude.  My passion for the sport shows on the court and I am at my best when the entire team is involved in the game! This is why I feel I would be a great asset to your organization.
