Personal Statement

My name is Colin Murphy. I am a dedicated and hardworking student and athlete. I pride myself in being respectful, conscientious and diligent in school and on the course. I put up many hours on the course, driving range and putting green daily to improve my game. I am willing to dedicate time to better myself as a person, student and golfer.

This is a brief story about my golf career and how it started. I played football and baseball my whole life up until the age of 14. Around the 8th grade is when I started to enjoy and grow my passion for the game of golf. At this time I was shooting in the high 40's. As a freshman my goal was to play in the state tournament for my team but I was not given this opportunity. This pushed me to get better and better each day and in just 2 seasons of golf I dropped my handicap from 15 - 1.8.

I am continuing to work hard and I am excited about earning a spot on a collegiate golf team.
