Since placing my hands on golf clubs and taking that first swing on my 2nd birthday, I have played in a total of 440 individual and team golf competitions and have had 239 wins, 72 runner-ups, 55 Top 5s, 17 Top 10s, and 31 Top 25s. I have earned 18 "Player of the Year Awards" and won events on 12 different junior tours across the southeast U.S. I earned a starting spot on my Berkeley Prep's varsity golf team as a 6th grader and have played in every match since. I qualified for high school state individually as a 7th grader and again as a senior, and I have earned five varsity MVP awards for having the lowest scoring average on my team. Last year, I tied my school's record for having the lowest 9-hole round of 31. I've had two hole-in-ones - both during varsity competitions.
Doing my BEST is the most important thing to me. No matter how I play in an event, I practice right after because I have learned things and want to keep improving. I enjoy lifting weights and playing basketball when I'm not golfing. I'm good at basketball, and I played in middle and high school. I think doing other athletic things strengthened me mentally and physically. I have never withdrawn from a tournament when I wasn’t playing well or was sick. I'm not a quitter; finishing what I commit to 100% has made me into a winner.
I love being part of a team and have a lot of leadership experience since I‘ve played 7 years of varsity golf. I want to help my teammates become better players by inspiring and encouraging them. Golf, I found out, is mostly in one's mind. I‘m now looking forward to playing on a competitive college golf team next school year with a great coach who will help me become an even better player!
