Matias Rantala '22 Recruiting Profile

I have done many sports and I think I am pretty good at them, yet golf took my passion since I was 2 years old :)  I am very competitive, good at school and I never give up, thus many of my friends say after a bad first 9 nine that: "he will come back, just wait". Started gym three years back after being a year off the golf fields due to a stress fracture in my back. It took a while to get back to the flow but after changes during last two years my technique has improved a lot and it is more friendly to body to prevent injuries. I always give my best when playing. I am positive and a good company. My goal has always been to graduate in the US University and turn to a pro and make my living with it.

Year 2020 was supposed to me my breakthrough, yet Corona is not giving much options to shine in competitions. February 2020 in Spain at Nordic Winter Open I scored at 10th, being the best at eagles and Par-5 and playing 4 steady rounds, gave me a good picture of where I am and that I am ready for tough games.
