My name is Joseph Bencivenga and I am a left handed golfer, with aspirations to play college golf, and a 12 handicap at the moment. I wasn't always a golfer though, I played baseball for most of my life, I switched to golf my sophomore year in high school and I'm currently a junior. I attend Arthur L Johnson High School, in Clark, New Jersey. My goals are to become the number one golfer on my team this season, as well as striving to shoot in the 70's. During last spring I decided to give golf a try and I fell in love with the sport, the moment I put a golf club in my hand. Currently I've been playing golf for 9 months, I was self taught for 6 of those months, basically trying to improve my game from any instructional or informational video I could find. I really wanted to improve my game, so I pursued a personal coach by the name of Bill caster, who presides at Plainfield, Country Club. After just a couple lessons my game improved tremendously. I went from not even breaking 100 to shooting in the low to mid 80's, and I'm still improving and focusing on lowering my score every time I step foot on the golf course. Golf is a very important factor in my life now, but I'm always focusing on my academics, and keeping my grades as high as possible.
