I guess one could say that sports was always meant to be a part of my life. I grew up in an athletic family. My father was a professional hockey player in the NHL, and my mother was an international level European-handball player, which means that sports was always a constant in our household. As a small child I loved to play all kinds of sports but at age 5 I was introduced to golf, and ever since then I have been hooked.
While living in Europe for a few years, I started working with my coach Ville Sirkia at Aura Golf in Finland at the age of 11. I began tournament golf soon thereafter and I went from a 23 handicap to a 2.3 handicap in just 2 years. I have since then competed in tours in both the US and in Europe, in order to gain as much experience as possible.
Growing up in different countries and within different cultures, I find history and how we organize our societies interesting. I hope to study History and Political Science, in order to further expand my knowledge in these fields. My other interests include Economics and Business.
In high school I have found a new dimension to the game of golf. I love competing for the school in golf and enjoy the camaraderie amongst my teammates. It feels as if you are a part of something unique that's different from individual competition. My future goals are to compete in golf at the college level and maybe work within golf as an occupation. I know what it takes and I know my skill and determination can assist any team in a major way.
