Matthew Gero '21 Recruiting Profile

The first time I stepped on the ice I was four years old, playing on a rink built in my grandparents backyard. Since then hockey has been a huge part of my life. When I play hockey I forget about everything else.  Playing hockey makes me feel like everything in my life is right.  I look forward to practices, team dinners and games every week. Hockey is the first thing I think about when I wake up and the last thing I think about before I go to bed.  For me, the opportunity to play in college would be one I would never want to miss.  Hockey is something I want to have with me for the rest of my life and the experience of playing in college would be irreplaceable to me in furthering my knowledge of and ability in the game now while better preparing me for the opportunity to give back to the game in the future.  By playing at the college level I feel as though I could grow to my greatest potential while enjoying the sport I love most.
