Sean Bonneau '23 Recruiting Profile

I started playing golf around the age of 5. I started to take it more seriously during the COVID-19 pandemic, I found myself going to the driving range or playing a round with friends almost daily. I started to gain more skill and I decided to challenge myself and entered a New England Junior PGA tournament where I came in third place, shooting in the mid 90s. The competitive drive that I developed  from my other sports,  basketball and soccer which translated to me working to improve my golf game. I ended up trying out for my high school team the following year and made the team behind 4 seniors as a sophomore. I played in every match and grew a lot during my spring 2021 season. My high school season culminated with me shooting an 84 and 87 during our state tournament where my school team finished 4th in the state. After the season ended, I kept playing and improving which led to my first New England Junior PGA tournament win in Rhode Island, in which I carded a 79. I have continued working on my game at my home course, Swansea Country Club, and I have set the goal to play college golf. I am hopeful to find a good academic and athletic fit for me to continue to pursue my passion for golf to enhance my college experience.
