My name is Dabney Dickenson (Class of 2016), and my goal is to play college golf. I am a 2 sport athlete, with baseball being the other sport (where I play LHP/1B). I am 6’3” tall. My verified USGA Handicap is 1.1, which will improve now that I am more focused on golf. During the summer I had 6 top 5 finishes and won one tournament, all while still playing travel baseball. I have all the tools necessary to compete successfully at the collegiate level – ability to handle pressure situations, good length off the tee and strong short game as well, plus the drive and dedication to take my game to the next level. I have signed on with Virgil Herring, a well-respected golf coach to take my game to the next level. Additionally, I am a strong team player and will do whatever is necessary to make the team better. I am also a serious honors student, with a 4.1 weighted GPA, initial 27 ACT score, and an interest in pursuing Engineering in college. My combination of athletic ability, work ethic and ability in the classroom make me an ideal candidate to play college golf and have a successful future as part of a strong program.
