My freshman year has given me the most opportunity to grow personally and as a teammate. In the fall, a perforated appendicitis caused me to have a setback. Because of this, I lost four months of practice, a lot of muscle and strength, and I had to get my swing back to where it was. In order to get back to where I was, required me to put in extra effort both physically and mentally and required me to refocus on golf, my training approach and how to balance the school work I missed.
I am fortunate to be a part of a young team with a lot of potential and inspire each other to work together to do our best individually and as a team. I am learning the value of teamwork, commitment, and every second you are on the course matters to you and your team. At times, we all need to be led and all need take on a leadership role to become the best we can be. I am looking for a program that will be a good match for me both academically and athletically. I believe I can make a positive impact on a college team with my talent, moral and work ethic, leadership skills, and ability to follow leadership.
Sincerly, Jack Mitas
