I swung my clubs for the first time in 5th grade and ever since I have been fascinated by Golf. Although I started playing competitive golf only in high school, I felt I could ultimately perform at a high level. I also aspire to be an engineer with a major in Computer Science and I have worked towards that goal for the past several years. My passion for the sport has led me to believe more kids would benefit playing Golf. I want to be an inspiration to many more kids especially from my ethnic background even if it meant they play the game as a hobby.
I believe I have been able to learn the finer details of the sport in a relatively short time given the passion I have. Both in PGA Jr league scramble format and Varsity Golf team I have been a team player and available to support the team. I have mentored younger players in my Varsity team and I am very approachable as an individual. On a Golf game skill level, I have a good balance of long game and short game and constantly work on improving my overall approach to Golf. I learned from an accomplished coach, Mr.Sang Hwang, who has helped many students join reputed NCAA Golf programs.
As for my character traits, I am a very determined, focused at the same time handle pressure well. I am able to maintain the right balance between academics and athletics while managing AP college level courses and Honors courses with good grades.
I strongly believe that Golf will help me with my long term career goals regardless of whether I play the sport professionally or not. It will help me build a network that I can lean on my personal growth.
