My name is Nick Niemeier and I just graduated from St. John Vianney High School in St. Louis, Missouri. I am a goalie and have been playing hockey since I was 5 years old. I have been playing on my varsity team since freshman year. March 11, 2020, my team made it to the state championship game where my school won for the first time since 1996, beating the 17-time previous champions. I was also named MVP of that game.
I have always played hockey at a higher level including: 02 Pacific Selects, 02 AAA St. Louis Blues, 02 (CSDHL) Central States Chesterfield Falcons. The past 2 summers, I was invited to participate in an elite camp with Canadian Professional Goalie School for a week in Minnesota.
I skate year-round participating in multiple off-season camps and goalie training. My goalie training includes both on and off ice. I strive to develop my game and play hockey at a higher level after high school. I am hopeful that I will find a juniors team. With my drive and my commitment, I hope to play hockey in college and even longer.
Even though I play hockey year-round, I also play baseball. I am a utility player but my main positions are catcher and short stop. My high school team practices 6 days per week. I enjoy the camaraderie of being on a team and I work very hard to keep a balance in sports and school. I also see a benefit of playing 2 sports because I feel like I am in the best shape both mentally and physically. Baseball season helps to keep me conditioned.
I am proud of what I have accomplished so far. I just had my last high hockey school banquet and I was honored to receive the Hobey Baker award. I am hoping to find a team and a school that is willing to give me a chance to show that I will be a great teammate and that I will work hard to gain their trust and I promise to not let them down.
