I do not just want to play hockey in college, I want to one day, earn a Ph.D in anthropology. I think using ice hockey to get into college can help me get a good start towards that goal. I also want my college experience to be a great one and ice hockey can make it one.
I have been told by my coaches that I am one of the most hardworking kids they meet and that I always try to keep team morale high. It does not matter how bad we are losing, or by how much we are winning, I never stop working and try to get my team mates to follow that example.
Academically, I have a number of different interests. I am not just interested in anthropology. I want to study linguistics, especially ancient languages like Hittite, Old English, and Latin. I am very good at learning languages and hold a solid A in my German class and have been told by my German teacher that I am on my way to taking AP German my senior year. I am also interested in Music. I took basic music production and theory (two separate classes) and the lowest grade I got was a 97. I will also be recommended for AP music theory my junior year. I would be taking it my Sophomore year, but the class is not going to be offered this coming school year. I am also in all honors classes and my lowest final grade in those classes was an 87.
My greatest attributes are how hard working I am and how diverse my interests are, and I hope it makes me a great candidate for any school.
