When it comes to college; I am open-minded but I’m looking for a quality education that will enable me to ensure a stable and gratifying future. Equally important to me is being able to play hockey at the College level.
I love playing hockey. I started skating when I was 7 years old with our town recreational summer camp where it quickly became evident that ice skates were new for me and not so natural. But I was determined, not only to learn to skate but to skate well.
My determination to master the ice so I could play hockey was the only thing that mattered to me at such a young age. My parents were not so sure this was a skill I would reach the level I was determined to attain after watching me struggle those first sessions but playing hockey was all I could think about, it was all I talked about.
With my parents support and their desire to help me realize ‘my dream’ we found and took advantage of every possible camp, clinic and lesson we could find.
I was able to join my first travel team when I was 8 years old and never looked back.
When I’m on the ice I give everything I’ve got, whether it’s practices, games, showcases or tournaments. I am a ‘clean’ player and I am committed to my coaches, my teammates and to improving my play.
More than a few of my coaches have complimented me on my coachability due to my hard-work, commitment, and enthusiasm to be more skilled and knowledgeable on the ice and be a team player. They’ve noticed that I appear to be just as happy to get an assist and see my teammates do well as I am when I am able to score a goal myself.
I apply the same work ethic to my education, although not with quite the same passion. I strive to maintain a high GPA since education is extremely important.
I am hoping that this recruitment process will assist me in finding a School/Coach/Team who have as much faith in me as I have in myself and who are willing/able to give me the opportunity to prove myself and my value to their school and ice hockey program so I can achieve my goal/dream.
I played for the 2022 Midget North Jersey Avalanche travel team in the NJYHL League, my jersey number is 22, our jerseys are yellow (home) and navy (away).
I am currently playing for the Decatur Blaze in the USPHL Premiere League
The goal of my video clip is to keep things short and quick and while it does highlight some of how I consistently play my offensive position, I do also move around as a playmaker defensively with takeaways, blocks and boxing out whoever has the puck on the opposing team.
Thank you for taking the time to read my statement.
