I’m interested in playing lacrosse at the collegiate level. I play for my high school team and I will graduate in 2015. I am 5’9” and currently weigh 140 Lbs. I started playing lacrosse in late 2012. Although I have only been playing for a couple of years, I have played in multiple indoor and outdoor leagues as well as tournaments and I believe I’ve developed my skills well. My coach tells me I have a good head for the game and stay calm under pressure. My weakness is speed and size, although I am working on these.
Over the summer I consumed over 3,500 calories per day and had a weight training schedule to put on some mass (I gained 10 lbs). I ran speed drills and other conditioning exercises. I did wall ball and shooting drills in my back yard with a goal and throw-back. I also attended the Ohio State Buckeye 200 lacrosse camp where I was clocked with a 5.26 second 40 yard dash time and a shoot speed of 81 MPH.
As a student I have a 3.33 GPA and a 25 on the ACT. My math score on the ACT was a 29. With my current grades, I should graduate with at least a 3.43 (3.47 weighted) GPA. I am a Boy Scout with a Life Rank. This is the rank before Eagle and I plan to receive my Eagle this spring. I am looking for a university that will both allow me to continue playing lacrosse and have degrees in fields that interest me. I am looking to go into software engineering/computer engineering.
