Gavin has chosen to attend The Ross School of Business at The University of Michigan. Thank you to all the coaches and schools that gave him a look.
With the Coronavirus outbreak, Gavin’s senior year has been surreal to say the least. His high school hockey team was able to complete their season. He was team captain, Academic All State, votes team MVP by his peers, and was the team Hobie Baker Award winners as voted by the coaches. Lacrosse season has just finished tryouts before school was closed. Gavin was selected as one of two captains for the team.
The below statements still hold true. In addition Gavin made tremendous strides in the weight room which resulted in him being a physical force on the ice. He was looking forward to the gains paying dividends on the field as well. His off field work on his shot from a distance and his continued growth of his off-hand shot showed well in pre-season scrimmages. He was stoked to bring it against one of the toughest schedules in the state...
Gavin is a two sport varsity athlete, excelling in both lacrosse and hockey. He has a high athletic IQ with great vision and anticipation on the field and the ice. Gavin has been recognized by his coaches at all levels for his hustle, work ethic, and leadership by example. He is a quick and elusive player in both sports with strong ball / puck skills. Gavin is effective at using his body positioning to consistently win loose balls / pucks against bigger players. He puts his teammates in a position to succeed with his playmaking ability and unselfish nature.
Gavin has always been mature for his age. He has a strong sense of self and compassion for others. He is a soft spoken kid with a humble nature in team / school environments. This mix of character traits along with his effort/hustle has resulted in him being that leader that class and teammates gravitate towards. Gavin plays an unselfish game and as a result that rubs off on his teammates raising their collective level of play.
Gavin has been recognized for his leadership, unselfish nature, and work ethic by being named Captain for the 2019/20 season for his varsity hockey team and 2020 season for his varsity lacrosse team.
