Although my first memory of lacrosse was getting shot in the knee by a ball, I have learned it is much more than that. Throughout the many years of lacrosse I have played, I have learned many different things to shape me as a human being. I started off as a timid little 3rd grade, to a person who tries to talk to others about their experiences with the sport. But none of this would have even started if I did not complete my work in school. My parents when I was younger wouldn’t let me go to practices until I finished all of my work I had. Pounding this into my head I have learned how important being a student is before and athlete. All that I know for certain in life is that we will only get out what we put in. Not only does one need to put work into their work on and off the field, but it goes across to all aspects of life. Whether it be a son, a father, a brother or sister, or even a cousin, one needs to take care of business. And lacrosse has lacrosse mixed with my parents and coaches have taught me all of this. Yet I will never forget that first time I stepped on the field as nervous as can be.
