My name is Alexander B. Keifer "Alex" and I am from Mechanicsville, Virginia. I have played Lacrosse since third grade and will graduate in June 2024 from Atlee High School. The positions that I mainly play are close defense, midfield defense, and LSM. I am 6'0" and weigh 170 pounds. I made my high school's varsity team as a freshman and have won 2 state championships with them as a sophomore and junior. Additionally, this past season my high school team went 20-0 including winning a second state championship in a row.
Academically, I am both an AP and IB student with a 4.3 GPA. I will earn an advanced diploma in June 2024. Currently, I am the CIO (chief information officer) of the Computer Science Honor Society and a member of DECA in which I have learned various facets of project management and public speaking. I am a member of National Honor Society, Beta National Honor Society, and German National Honor Society. I also spend a lot of my time practicing and conditioning with local travel teams to hone my lacrosse skill development. Most of the past 6 summers after lacrosse season, I have attended a summer boys' camp where I have learned about teamwork and leadership. I wish to major in applied mathematics and/or physics when I attend college, possibly moving on to serve my country as an officer in the US military.
On the field, I am disciplined and focused. I am coachable and teachable. I look for and respond to my coaches' advice and I think quickly on my feet. I take my physical conditioning seriously and I try to perform to my highest potential every time I am on the field. Off the field, I approach my studies with the same ethic and expectations which my grades and academic rigor reflect. I am a conscientious and caring teammate, classmate, and friend.
For my college career, I aspire to play for a Division III program. My interest lies in applied math and physics with a focus on research. I am eager to see what programs might be a good fit for me!
