Although I have been rowing for a very short amount of time I found a large passion for the sport in a very short amount of time. I started in the fall of my Junior year of High school but once I joined the team everything felt natural to me. Having joined Junior year onto a full high school team, I was initially categorized as a novice rower and had to work with kids that were at least 2-3 years younger than me. But this didn't stop me from pursuing a good rowing career. I had worked with freshman for the first fall season at my school and I began to bond with those younger and older than me on the team. This really taught me that although I felt initially out of place rowing with teammates that were over 2 years younger than me but that dint matter because i found that as long I was rowing I made a bond with my teammates that was unbreakable. As my fall season went into my spring season my form improved immensely and I was considered for Varsity on the team. Although I didn't make it past the first race as varsity, having practiced for the rest of the season allowed me to join back into the Varsity boat for the last race. This brings us to my most recent season of Senior year. I rowed on Varsity all throughout the season and at our biggest race, the head of the Fish in Saratoga Springs NY we placed 11th in the 1V 4 Boat Race at the Regatta. Through my 1 and a half years of rowing I learned that with the pride and passion for rowing that I found Junior Year of high school that anything is possible
