John Stroka '26 Recruiting Profile

My name is John "Hanley" Stroka, class of 2026. My rowing career began in the spring of 5th grade in a learn to row in quads. I learned how to cox and skull there. Pretty soon after, COVID hit, and I was forced to put rowing aside and focus on my two main sports at the time (Lacrosse & Hockey). But, coming into my freshman year at Hingham High School, I decided to pick rowing back up in the fall season. I was the Boys 1N 8+ Cox that fall season. Then come spring, I made the switch to rowing and have been working my tail to climb the ladder into the highest spot in the boat and be honored to receive captain of my team this season. I hope to continue my athletic and academic career in the collegiate level. I am a student athlete with, grit, energy, and will do what it takes to not only win, but to bring my teammates up there with me.
