At a young age I learned time management skills; balancing school with training, learning self control and discipline. I began my athletic journey at age 6 studying Mixed Martial arts, practicing more than six hours a week, earning my 2nd degree black belt by age 13. I also played recreational baseball, basketball, soccer throughout elementary school. I knew I wanted something different for myself in High School sports and discovered crew. I attended a few summer training sessions just before my freshman year and decided to give it a try. I had spent my summers at the Jersey shore and always loved being on the water, taking kayaking lessons as a small child. It only took a few weeks into practice on the water and I was hooked. By Christmas, I asked for my own erg to work out at home. Crew has taught me the values of determination, perseverance, and teamwork. My erg scores have continued to improve over time due to hard work on and off the water. I stive to challenge myself academically as well; achieving a GPA of 4.9 and I've enrolled in all the honors and AP courses available to me. In addition to the crew team, I’m a member of the Knights of Setonia, a service group at Seton Hall Preparatory School, as well as a member of the National Honor Society. I am an active member in my local church and youth group; participating in various volunteer activities throughout the school year. I plan to study Biology and Finance as an undergraduate student and plan to pursue a career in veterinary science. I want to be a member of a strong, competitive rowing team that shares my passion for athleticism, volunteerism, and education.
