My ability to make decisions efficiently sets me apart from my peers. I do not like to struggle over decisions, even hard ones, because I know that speed is better than stagnation. When I commit to a decision, I go all in without question and with everything I have. As it pertains to rowing, after what was easily the toughest practice of the year, I decided that continuing this sport as long as I can is something I must do and I cannot have any regrets for not pursuing and working at it as best and as hard as I can.
I fell in love with this sport because of the people around me. The relationships you create in rowing are unlike any other. My brothers who rowed with me this year showed me what a real fraternity is like. That bond helped us to win every race this season in the lightweight four event we planned for, including the Virginia state championship, which qualified us for nationals where we came in sixth. Those feelings and relationships grown from hard work and a shared goal is all I can ask for in a college team; everything else is just a bonus.
