Jack DiGiovanni '24 Recruiting Profile

My love for soccer began when I played for my town's rec league at 5 years old.  As I matured and the game became more competitive I knew I wanted to play in college. I am a team player, coachable and determined to be the hardest worker on the field.

My primary positions are Center Back and Center Defensive Midfield -- for both Trumbull High School Varsity and Trumbull United (Club). My strong and powerful build pairs well with my quickness and reactive movements. My technical ability is simple and effective. I play aggressively, but in control. I have built a reputation as a shutdown/takeaway defender at Back, and as a possession winner and distributor at Midfield.  All of this matched with a strong IQ for the game, mental toughness and a 'never quit' attitude. For athletic variety I have participated in two years of Varsity Indoor Track earning Second Team All-Conference honors (4 x 2 Relay) which has further enhanced my performance on the soccer field.   

After starting and playing every minute of my Sophomore Varsity season, I was named Captain as a Junior and again for my upcoming Senior year.  In 2022 I helped lead my team to Trumbull High School's 6th Conference Championship win (FCIAC), the first seed in Connecticut's Class LL High School State Tournament, and a season best 8th ranking in the nation (United Soccer Coaches Poll 10/18/22).  

Off the field, I try to give back to the coaches and community that made me the person and player I am today.  I coach and referee for the Trumbull United youth teams, as well as volunteer as a teacher's aide for Sunday School at my church. Most recently, I joined my younger sister in organizing a food drive for our local homeless shelter. I also enjoy playing basketball, lifting weights and spending time with my family.

I hope to attend a college where I can showcase my talent on the field, in the classroom, and throughout the community.
