Thomas DiCorpo '26 Recruiting Profile

My name is Thomas DiCorpo.  I started playing AYSO soccer at 5 years old.  My first position was as a Center Back.  I joined the local Trumbull United Team for two years and then at the age of 10, I moved up to the premiere level by joining the club team Everton/Inter CT FC.  I continued to advance my defensive skills and led the defense by stopping plays and regaining possession by positioning and timely tackles.  I was selected to be Team Captain for 3 years by my coach and teammates.  Upon entering high school in 2022, I was selected for the Junior Varsity team as a freshman. I achieved my goal of making the transition to a Central Defensive Midfielder position. I also played JV basketball as a freshman.

In 2023, I continued to play with my club team Inter CT FC and was selected to play on the U15 USL team through a partnership with AC Connecticut.  I was injured and was out for the remainder of 2023.

I returned to play in spring of 2024 and subsequently, I was selected to travel to Ireland in the summer to play in the SuperCup Tournament with Inter CT FC.  This was the first time Inter CT FC was invited to play against elite teams such as Brighton Academy and Manchester United Academy.  

Fall 2024, CDM starter for the Varsity Trumbull High School Soccer Team.  The team achieved making it to the State LL semi-finals.  In addition, I play for the AC Connecticut ECNL RL team in partnership with Inter CT FC.

I have developed strong defensive foundational skills and tactical awareness. I am a strong leader on and off the field by motivating my teammates and being able to maintain composure in high-pressure situations.   I have strong strategic skills and ability to read the field which enables me to anticipate the moves of the competing team.

Off the field, I spend time with my family and friends.  Most of my friends play sports, so I support them by attending their games and cheering them on.  I volunteer at a non-profit camp during the summer – the same camp I grew up attending.  I am also a lifeguard and a soccer referee.  Being a referee has provided me with more exposure to the game of soccer from a different perspective and has helped me be much more aware of what I do on the field to avoid any fouls or penalties.  I also enjoy pick-up games with the high school team which helps us bond more on the field.
