Determination, perseverance, and leadership. These are some of the defining qualities I believe I can offer teams as I look to play soccer in college. I have had the dream to play soccer in college ever since I was little, but over the years I have realized dreams come true through hard work. I have many on-field skills, but I believe what makes me stand out is my leadership. For the past 3 years, I have been my premier team's captain, a role that is selected both by the players and the coaches. This has allowed me to learn how to lead a group of players and motivate them. I have had setbacks too, and in the winter of my freshman year, I needed shoulder surgery. This meant I would miss all but the very last month of my spring season. I was not happy to miss so much, but I did not use that as an excuse. More importantly with an injury or not, I was still the Captain, and even though I was in a sling and could not play, I still attended every practice, game, and tournament we had. I wanted to show the team how committed I was to them and to lead by example. I have many skills to offer on the field, but I feel with any team I go to, I can offer an aspect of leadership that others may not.
