My name is Brayan Andres Mendez, I am currently a Senior at Jackson-Reed High School in Washington DC. I have played club, travel, and school soccer for most of my life, and currently play for my school’s Varsity team and am getting ready to begin playing with my club team here in Washington DC once the school season ends.
I was born in Colombia and lived there until I was 8 years old when I was adopted by a family in the United States. In Colombia and here in the United States I have lived in multiple foster care and adoptive placement homes. No matter where I’ve been, soccer has been the one consistent thing in my life that has kept me motivated and has helped me persevere.
My background has made me adaptable and always prepared to work through a challenge - on or off the field. I am really looking forward to taking control of the next chapter of my life by pursuing a college degree and advancing my soccer career. I intend to pursue a business degree and, possibly, launch my own company in the future. It has always been a dream of mine to run a company that focuses on the growth of kids and their sports and gives them the opportunity to advance in their chosen sport.
