Justis Simmonds '23 Recruiting Profile

Everyone  keeps telling me that the path one has to take in order to play professional soccer is very rough--you almost have to be the best of the best!   I'm here to say that I'm searching for a soccer program that  shares my same passion for soccer that will provide a platform to help me be the best in order to beat the best while supporting my educational values.   I started receiving personal training at 12 years  old & was told I was a little behind compared to my peers after starting club soccer late at 10 years old --it was then I made it my personal mission to  not only compete at a higher level, but to stand out-- wearing a uniform with pride  alone just wasn't good enough.   I started out playing center back for years locking down the back line naturally with my size & speed.  As my love for soccer grew , I yearned for more responsibility leading me to increase my soccer knowledge through self development providing my team with utility player that benefited challenges teams face periodically.     My strategic style of play allows me to  have foresight & move quickly in order to dominate  as an attacking midfielder in making the best decision for the team to be successful but also have the ability to easily transition to fullback or wing.  Now in high school,  I utilize other sports like football for additional strength training & physicality &  track for speed & endurance, but neither of those gave me more than the adrenaline rush of playing soccer.  I balance these sports with soccer while maintaining honors classes & providing mentorship & tutoring to teammates.  Although, the road may be tough, I  will continue to prepare myself physically & mentally for the challenge.  I am confident that this will be another goal I seek to accomplish where I see myself playing  colligate soccer for the highest divisions .
