Personal Statement
I have a strong desire to play soccer at the college level. I play for Galaxy Soccer Club in Naperville, IL and on the varsity team at Plainfield North High School in Plainfield, IL. I am in the class of 2021. I primarily play outside midfielder but also play an attacking center midfielder or forward. I am a dynamic player that brings pace, energy and the ability to generate goal-scoring opportunities. My strengths are speed, vision, passing and striking (with both feet). I am a fierce competitor with strong leadership qualities and work ethic.
I am a starting midfielder for my Galaxy club team, which plays in the top division of the U.S. Youth Soccer Midwest Conference (formerly MRL) and the USYS National League. For the 2018-19 season, we went 4-1 in National League and won the Midwest Conference with a 7-1-1 record. We qualified for Midwest Regionals in Saginaw, MI where we were undefeated through pool play and semi-finals but lost the championship game 1-0. I was the Golden Boot winner at Regionals with 5 goals. We made the IL State Cup finals in 2017 and semi-finals in 2018.
I am a three-year Varsity starter (freshman, sophomore, junior) and was named Captain and voted Team MVP my junior year. I led my team in scoring my sophomore and junior years and earned All-Conference and All-Sectional both years.
Academics are very important to me as well. My current GPA is 5.0/5.0 (weighted 5.7/5.0) and I achieved high honor roll each semester.
I am looking for a college that will give me the opportunity to play soccer at a high level and a quality education that will prepare me for life after college.
