Personal Statement

I have loved playing soccer since preschool. Playing while studying hard in school has always been a good combination for me. I've never been grumpy about practicing hard or listening to my coaches. In 2019 my coach  moved me to striker on our combined 2002/2003 team. I scored six goals to end the season tied for 11th place in our league in scoring before Covid interrupted that season. In 2020-2021 we were able to play our complete fall and spring seasons of 17 matches each despite Covid.

My hope is that hard academic work at Croatia's most prestigious math and science high school while excelling in its most competitive and beloved national sport will make me a good candidate for playing at the college level at an excellent university in the USA.

I've grown up bilingual, with my Mom always speaking Croatian to me and my Dad always English. I'm a dual US and Croatian citizen. Attending college in America will be a good chance for me to learn about my Dad's culture as I have always gone to school here.

We are often in western Pennsylvania and the San Francisco Bay Area during the summers. My summer break is around mid-June to the end of August.
