Personal Statement
My name is Diego Müller, and I've been around great soccer cultures my entire life. I was adopted at an early age and my birth father is Hispanic but my dad who raised me is from Germany and my parents have given me the opportunity to travel around the world and see soccer played in different countries (my cousin plays professionally in Germany). This has given me an appreciation of other cultures and greatly influenced my love of the game. The game is everything to me.
What I'd like you to know, is that given the opportunity, I'd work very hard for you. For the past seven years, I've driven 5-hours round trip to get to my club practices, but it is completely worth it! I've learned how to do homework in the car or late at night because I know how important academics are and how they could benefit my future soccer opportunities. I'm working hard to balance soccer and academics and was selected this year for the National Honor Society. I hope to study exercise science or nutrition.
Soccer-wise, I’ve started on the high school varsity team every year, was selected First Team All-Western Athletic Conference (three years in a row), and team captain. I played Kansas ODP and was part of the ODP Midwest Regional Pool. My primary position is winger/forward and I play attacking mid for my high school team. I'm part of FC Wichita USL Academy and the U19 team that finished second at the EA National Championship.
My dream is to play soccer at the highest level possible for as long as possible, then use my college degree and knowledge of the game to hopefully coach and inspire others. Thank you for your consideration.
