Personal Statement
Soccer has been a part of my life since the day I was born. Having 2 older sisters who played the sport through high school, I have always been on a field in some capacity. I started my career at the age of 3 playing U-6 recreational soccer. I have continued my career at a travel and high school level playing in Premier leagues, MSYSA State Cup competitions, and even winning the MHSAA 2020 State Championship for my school.
Soccer has taught me resilience, leadership, teamwork, but most of all to trust Gods plan for my future. Understanding that we are not always going to win every game, but the importance of giving our all on the field and working together as a team is the most important.
In a sport that is so competitive, there is always someone that is going to be able to run faster or shoot stronger. I have faced many of these obstacles to get to where I am today. I think it is easy to give up when faced with each challenge, but more difficult to preserver through them. Instead of giving up when faced with these challenges, I have learned to work harder and push myself more to get better every day. In addition, having a strong support system in place to help encourage you. I call them my 3 F’s in life. Faith, Family, and Friends.
Faith-Having faith keeps me grounded in who I am and what I have been called for in life.
Family- I come from a large family who have always loved and supported me in all that I do. I am the youngest boy with 4 sisters which can be a challenge, but instead, it has been a blessing. They are always there to cheer me on or tell me when I need to work harder or do better.
Friends- Surrounding me with friends who share the same goals in life and want to see each other succeed. I feel it important to have friend who are going to encourage you and lift you up when needed but are also willing to be honest with you when you need to hear it.
Ultimately, my goal is to continue my sports career professionally and play soccer at the highest level for as long as I can. I am looking for a college that will support my Athletic goals while working to obtain a degree in business and sports management. So, no matter where life takes me, I will always be working for the sport I love.
