Jeremy McDaniel '21 Recruiting Profile

My name is Jeremy McDaniel. I am currently a Junior at Picayune Memorial High School. I began playing soccer at age five and have competed in several other sports during my youth. I also joined the band program in sixth grade. As I grew older my love of soccer began to take up more of my time and ultimately became my only sport. My Recreational coach pushed me to tryout for the high school team in seventh grade and although I did not make the team it allowed me to see how hard I would need to work to achieve that goal. I ultimately made the JV squad during my eight grade year, traveled with the varsity team as a backup, and became a starter in ninth grade. I was also encouraged to tryout for a select program and I am at the end of my third year with Gulf Coast United.  During that time my touch, communication, and vision of the field have improved greatly. Throughout the last three years I have pushed myself to become the best player and teammate possible. I have learned that no matter how hard or long I may work and practice there will always be more that I can do to improve my skills both on the field; as well as; in the classroom. I am blessed to have an awesome support system that allows me to strive for success academically, with music, and on the pitch.

As I begin to search for a college where I can pursue my career and life goals; that love of soccer will go with me. I plan to study for a career in athletic training/management with a possible minor in geology.  Additionally, I want to make a contribution to a soccer program while attending college. I take great pride in being a member of multiple teams where we work hard to succeed. My search is for that college that allows me to study for my career path but also bring the love and commitment to the game along with me.
