Sebastian Richardson '23 Recruiting Profile

My name is Sebastian Oliver Richardson. I currently play in Spain with FC Malaga City Academy (FCMC)’s Senior team affiliate, CD Almunecar City, which plays in the Spanish Federation League System. Please see my video highlights of my time in Spain.  

Before my time in Spain, I spent six years with  DC United Academy - from U11-U17.  I also played in the ECNL National U18/19 playoff finals with Virginia Union FC against Pateadores in 2022.  The ECNL taught me how to be disruptive and get wins.  I played in the 2023 U18/19 MLS Next Cup, with Springfield South County Youth Soccer Club (SYC), scoring three (3) goals and one (1) assist in three games. SYC helped refine and mature my game. 

I have played with and against high-level players my whole life. In Spain, I am playing in the highest amateur division against men 23 years old and up. Being in Spain with FCMC has made me stronger and more mature.  The experience has been next level, and my technical abilities have improved dramatically. During my youth career, I played in games against  Bayern Munich, FC Bologna, Cayman Islands National Team, Portmore FC (Jamaica), Cuban National Team, and many MLS Academies in league and tournament play, including scoring in the Generation Adidas Cup against Real Salt Lake and in MLS Next Playoffs.   I played in USL League 2 in the summer of 2022 and played on a Championship U23 team in the summer of 2023 against D1, D2 and D3 competition. 

I am open to opportunities to continue my playing career in college. Given that our season runs through May, I am exploring Junior College opportunities as well
