Personal Statement
My name is Kyle Birmingham. I live in Mount Olive New Jersey and currently attend Mount Olive High School. At 6'3 and 185 pounds, I am the the team captain and starting HS Varsity goalkeeper. In October of 2021 I was named NJAC Goalkeeper of the week and nominated as Top 100 Seniors in NJ. I recently broke the school's record for career saves and have 7 shut outs this season. I was named All Star, All-State, and made 2nd team All County and All Conference this year. I also play for PDA U18/19 ECNL/ECRL team. I led my team to win the NJ ECNL U17 State Cup last season and was recently named captain of team.
Throughout my career, I have made various game changing plays, including far stretch diving, one-on-one aggressive plays, and challenge opponents overall. I mentally prepare myself throughout games to help me make decisions in certain situations as well as make me the best player I can be physically. I am a leader on the field and a motivated and dedicated team player for which I earned my captains band.
During COVID, I was committed to staying in shape and trained everyday. Working with an agility trainer and 1:1 coaching sessions, I remained focused on improving my game. My experiences during the past year proved to me that I should believe in myself, never settle and always strive to be better.
My goal for my college career is to play competitive soccer and continue to excel while doing what I love, thriving academically while getting the best education possible, and having fun.
