Grant DeClement '16 Recruiting Profile

My determination, dedication, and tenacity make me a strong collegiate soccer candidate.  I continuously push myself to improve both academically and athletically.  Ii is my belief a team succeeds not only because of talent but because of working as a cohesive unit. A team cannot win on individual talent alone; it is imperative the team works well as a unit in order to be successful.  I strongly believe in working to build team success and am a natural leader as evidenced by my appointment as team Captain. One thing I refuse to do is give up; that includes on my teammates or myself. Additionally, I'm a strong student with a 4.0 GPA; I am able to juggle both the requirements of my sport and my academics adeptly. As a person, I'd describe my character as someone who can be depended upon and trusted. Some of my collegiate aspirations include going to a college, earning a degree, playing soccer, and helping to improve the squad. I believe what sets me apart from other recruits is my versatility and persistence; I am a person who is constantly trying to improve myself as a person on and off the field by trying to learn new things that will benefit me. If given the opportunity to play collegiate soccer I will dedicate myself to the team and work as hard as possible to show you that you've made the right decision choosing me.
