I have been an athlete my entire life. I come from a family of athletes. I began running track at the age of 6. While I enjoyed tremendous success, I fell in love with the sport of soccer. I began playing club soccer and have been playing there for over 5 years. Since I began playing soccer, my ultimate goal has been to compete at the collegiate level and eventually coach.
I am currently the starting center back for the Union High School Varsity soccer team. I also play for the 2006 Union Soccer Club Dragons Blue. I am an extremely versatile player. I play left back, center back, right back, CDM, and at times I have been asked to play in the striker position. I play wherever my team needs me. My strengths as a player are my ability to communicate, my passing accuracy, my speed, strength, and my defensive skills. I believe what makes me stand out as a player is my work ethic. I am the first one on the field and the last one off. I train on days when the team is off because I truly love it. I take advantage of every opportunity to grow as a player and as a person. I am generally soft spoken but I am a leader on the field. I lead by example and I lead with a positive attitude. When I work, I give it everything that I've got and I expect the same of my teammates. My coaches say that they enjoy working with me because I work hard and I am coachable.
Growing up my dad always taught us that "Good enough is not good enough when you are supposed to be great". He told me and my brothers that if we want something that we had to work for it. I always think of his advice when I am training and when I am in the classroom. Every day is an opportunity to be better and to grow. In our house, we have a wall of fame where we hang all of our awards, medals, and race bibs. We have it there to remind us of what we are capable of but also as a reminder to keep working to achieve our dreams. I believe that if I continue to work that I can achieve my dream of playing in college. I understand that it won't be easy but I know that I have what it takes.
